Dr Liz Allison
Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
Liz Allison is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Liz is a TIVA enthusiast and practices and teaches on the subject.
​
She is a Faculty member for TIVA for Tots and regularly delivers clinical lectures and interactive workshops on the subject of TIVA for children.

Dr Philip Arnold
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
Philip Arnold has been a consultant paediatric anaesthetist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool since 2002. Prior to this he underwent fellowship training in Liverpool, Toronto and Newcastle. He has a wide range of clinical interests around the peri-operative care of children. This includes enhanced recovery of cardiac patients, peri-operative echo, and management of severe bleeding. He has given lectures and written widely on these subjects. He has a range of research interests, is the immediate past chair of the science committee of the APA and a section editor of the journal Pediatric Anesthesia. He enjoys hill walking, climbing and other outdoor sports.

Dr Tom Blanks
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust
Tom is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist living and working in Nottingham. His clinical interests are anaesthesia for complex spinal surgery, neurosurgery and difficult airway management. He is passionate about implementing emerging technologies to inform patient care such as processed EEG monitoring.

Dr Peter Brooks
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
I am based at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London (since 2004) as a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist. Over the past decade, I have worked to promote paediatric TIVA in the UK/Europe and have assisted others in implementing the technique into their practice. I have previously held the position of Lead Training Program Director at the Imperial School of Anaesthesia in London. Currently, I am a member of the Scientific Committee for the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists and recently joined the committee of the Society of Intravenous Anaesthesia in the UK. My training took place in London, and I completed fellowships at Great Ormond Street Hospital and at British Columbia's Children's Hospital in Vancouver.

Douglas Eleveld works at the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands. He works in pharmacometrics with a special focus on developing useful general-purpose pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic models.

Dr Nicole Goh

I am a Consultant Anaesthetist in Alder Hey Hospital, with special interests in general surgery, orthopaedics, cleft and craniofacial surgery. I completed my anaesthetic training in the Liverpool, West Midlands and Toronto.

Prof Michael Irwin
University of Hong Kong
Michael G. Irwin, MB ChB, MD, FRCA, FCAI, FANZCA, FHKAM, is the Daniel CK Yu Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology, University of Hong Kong. He was Head of the Department from 2000 to 2020 and is Past President of the Society of Anaesthetists of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiology. Prof. Irwin has published around 400 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals (h index 60) and is in Stanford University's Top 2% Scientists List. He is an editor of Anaesthesia, Perioperative Medicine, Expert Opinion on Pharmacotherapy and senior editor of the HK Medical Journal. He is on the Faculty of Evidence Based Perioperative Medicine (EBPOM) and was Chairman of the organising committee for the World Congress of Anaesthesia 2016. He has written several book chapters and textbooks e.g. Taking on TIVA (Cambridge University Press) and educational reviews. His research interests include intravenous anaesthesia, pharmacology, perioperative medicine/enhanced recovery and the effects of anaesthesia on cancer.

Prof Gavin Kenny

Professor Kenny, BSc (Hons), MBChB, FRCA, MD, FANZCA is Professor Emeritus, University Department of Anaesthesia, Glasgow and Honorary Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, University of Hong Kong. He has been a visiting professor to many departments of anaesthesia in the United States, South Africa and Australia,and was appointed Honorary Civilian Consultant in Anaesthesia, to the UK Army Medical Directorate.
He has received several awards including the Mary Burnell Medal for services to Anaesthesia from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthesia, the Featherstone Award from the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, the S.T. Rowling Memorial Medal, the Manchester Medal for a
fundamental contribution to anaesthesia and the Henry Hill Hickman Medal awarded by the Royal Society of Medicine.
He has published more than 250 scientific articles and his research interests include the following areas, postoperative analgesia, target-controlled infusion systems for anaesthesia and analgesia, patient controlled infusion systems for analgesia and sedation, measurement of the depth of anaesthesia, closed-loop control systems for blood pressure and for general anaesthesia

Dr Jon McCormack

Jon is a consultant paediatric anaesthetist at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh. He completed his paediatric anaesthetic fellowship in BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, and has been using TIVA routinely in paediatric patients for almost 20 years with particular interests in the practical
applications of TIVA and teaching and training this technique.

Dr Katie Misselbrook
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
Dr Misselbrook is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, where she leads the Pre-assessment Service. She has a specialist interest in total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) for children, complex airway management, and the peri-operative care of children with challenging behaviours.
With a strong focus on patient-centred and family-inclusive care, Dr Misselbrook is committed to optimising the peri-operative experience for children and their families. She is actively involved in service development and innovation within the pre-assessment pathway, aiming to enhance safety, efficiency, and the overall quality of paediatric anaesthetic care.

Consultant paediatric anaesthetist in RHCYP Edinburgh having done a year fellowship in Alder Hey’s Children Hospital. Regional anaesthesia and TIVA enthusiast - RA lead for RHCYP, teaching and training - sits on the APAGBI education and training committee.
